Creating Unique Homes Across the Valley

Welcome to our blog site dedicated to helping you make informed decisions about remodeling your home and choosing the right contractor for your needs.

Have you decided what’s most important to you in your search for a remodeling contractor for your upcoming home remodel?

Do you have a clear vision of your finished kitchen renovation, bathroom update or master suite addition?

Have all remodeling contractors seemed the same other than their idea of what your kitchen, bathroom or home addition should cost?

Would you like to have a better design plan for remodeling your kitchen and bathroom than gathering random ideas from assorted remodeling contractors and online photos?

Would you feel more comfortable working with proven professionals that have invested in extensive education, national testing, and certifications from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) in all areas of design and construction for remodeling kitchens, bathrooms, and home additions?

Would it make sense to you for your remodeling contractor to have both professional designers and remodelers working together to give you the best value and results for your investment in your home remodel or renovation?

Does your home remodel rate being done by professionals that have won Contractor of the Year awards for their work from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry for kitchen remodels, home renovations and bathroom remodeling projects?

Would it help you to see 3D computer renderings of your kitchen, bathroom or master suite addition as it was being designed by your nationally certified designer?

Does it make sense to work with your designer on both design and budget to ensure that every detail was in balance and worked out to your satisfaction for beauty, function and cost?

When your design work is complete, all of the features chosen, and the budget approved, wouldn’t it be great to have all of the details included in your construction contract to ensure clear communication and minimize conflict?

Wouldn’t it be nice if your designer had worked closely with her production manager to ensure that the construction details of your new kitchen, bathroom, or master suite addition were perfect and that the details would be communicated with your personal project manager as well as every craftsman working on your home?

Would it give you confidence and peace of mind to have a team of two nationally certified remodelers managing your new master suite, kitchen remodel, or bathroom remodeling renovation?

Would you feel assured that this combination of nationally certified design and remodeling professionals working together would produce results you could be proud of for your home?

We invite you to join the happy homeowners that we have served with award winning design and remodeling services.

Yes. We always start with our design phase. It ensures that we create the best overall plan that will be balanced with a budget that works for you. We usually start by asking you questions about how you and your family use your bathroom, kitchen or other living space you want to be remodeled. We need to know what works for you and what doesn’t. If you have a wish-list, please share that. For example, if you have gathered online photos of bathrooms you admire, we would like to see them. Our goal is to see your home and your project through your eyes. Once we do this, we can add our expertise to the mix to develop the design project for you.

Many people have installed beautiful wood floors in their kitchens with excellent results. Standing water can be an issue, but normal kitchen activity is no problem. There are also automated water shut-off valves that can be installed in your kitchen and laundry room that will shut off the water supply in the case of a leak in an appliance such as a dishwasher.

The AZ ROC is Arizona’s construction licensing regulatory agency. Per Arizona State Statute, all contractors must be licensed to perform any type of construction work or litigation (unless covered by the Handyman Exemption). A business license in NOT the same as a contracting license. By not hiring a licensed contractor, you run the risk of being scammed and not having recourse should there be a problem with your project. Homework Remodels is appropriately licensed and carries the required insurance, workers compensation, and bonds. Click Here to view our AZ ROC License.

Universal Design incorporates elements so that all people in a single household can utilize the same amenities such as sinks, countertops, cabinets, etc. This is a popular concept for multi-generational families living in the same household or people with various levels of physical ability.

It depends on the size and length of your project and whether your pets can handle the disruption of their favorite napping spots. We have found that most of our clients do not need to board their pets (sometimes their spouse, though).

We minimize disrupting your life as much as possible. Most of our clients remain in their home during the process.
We typically work between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. However, we can accommodate most schedules if that time-frame does not work for you.

It depends on the size, complexity and features of your remodel. It will take a few discussions and the design phase to determine the cost. However, we focus on service to our clients no matter the size of their budget.
Again, it will depend on the size, complexity and features of your remodel. We will work together to develop your desires for your new kitchen. We will begin with our design phase where we will blend your ideas with our kitchen remodeling skills to come up with various options that will ultimately lead to the perfect plan for your new kitchen. Typically, a kitchen remodel will take six weeks.
We usually start by asking you questions about how you and your family use your kitchen. We need to know what works for you and what doesn’t. If you have a wish list and photos, we would like to see them. Our goal is to see your home and future kitchen through your eyes. Then we can add our expertise to the mix to develop the design for your new kitchen.
This is one of the most popular models we do for homeowners. By opening the kitchen to the living areas of the home, both areas benefit from the creation of a more family-friendly floor plan. An open concept kitchen may be simple or complex. Either way, we can do the work it takes to design the changes and complete them from cut-off to an open concept kitchen floor plan.
The older your home is, the more likely your kitchen is cut off from the living and entertaining areas. By removing all or part of the wall separating your kitchen from the living areas, you can transform both spaces. Today’s lifestyle is not as formal as it once was. Formal dining rooms and isolated kitchens do not work with how most families intermingle and socialize today. Opening up these spaces will transform, not only your home but your gatherings with family and friends.
It is possible to add propane gas to any home for cooking or a fireplace feature. Gas appliances will need to be specially jetted for propane gas. We will need to have a suitable outdoor area to locate the large storage tank and run the new gas pipe to the needed indoor areas.
You may want to consider induction cooking. It offers precise control of both temperature and timing as well as simple cleaning and safety features. The top is totally smooth and doesn’t get hot when in use. It works well with all cookware except for glass or aluminum pots and pans.
Usually it will not be a problem if we are doing a similar cabinet layout. If you have extra tile we can also make adjustments if necessary. If we are adding an island or a few extra cabinets it will not be an issue.
It depends on your needs and usage. Hard surface counters such as granite or quartz are the most widely used surface at this time. Their price varies. Granite has more veining and movements in its look. Quartz counter tops have a uniform pattern and color. They will hold up as well as or better than granite. We are an Authorized Dealer of ForzaStone.
