the wish list…

Because of its’ rich, warm tones, we call this remodel “Expresso Excellence”. First of all, the homeowner had a definite wish list of what he wanted in this kitchen renovation. We were asked to design a space plan that included more storage, increased counter space, updated finishes and all new appliances. We saved our client money by reusing the kitchen cabinetry, it was in good shape,  just the wrong color.

repainting the cabinets…

This is a very lucky homeowner. To begin with, we repainted the existing cabinets instead of spending a lot of money on new ones. As a result, the gorgeous espresso color provides an updated, stylish look to this once dated kitchen. Our Kitchen & Bath designer suggested adding additional cabinets for added storage. Rather than settling for something that closely resembled the existing cabinets, we had them made to exactly match what was already there.

backsplash & granite…

Due to our client wanting plenty of color and movement in his countertops, we used a very energetic granite called “Alaska”. It has some lighter, natural tones in it that contrast nicely against the espresso cabinets. Also, it has veins of that same rich brown running through it. Another high-end finish that was added was the stainless steel in the appliance package and in the new sink. Finally, a strip mosaic backsplash ties the space together. As a result, our homeowner can now enjoy his own bit of Espresso Excellence.
